art hist

Im in modern arch at the moment and andrew is looking at my screen; I do not really like when people look over my shoulder when I am doing stuff on my computer.

Anyway I was sitting around in class thinking of the signage that we had discussed during class on Monday and I wondered how improving the signage would improve the area of Newark. How do these signs effect our lives and or ideas about these stores? When we look down Main street we see a lot of mundane things that are uninspired and in turn we are uninspired. We have to look to magazines, the internet and tv to look for something different then what we see when we look down the Mainstreet. There is a a lack of content in Newark; There is no intrigue and interest created in the mind of the travelers who frequent Main Street. Why should i stop in and buy something from one of these stores if i have no interest in the place itself. They have no atmosphere; The Atmosphere starts with the connection between the inside and outside. There are a bunch of disfunctional ideas floating around with no great direction.
